Two years after she cut the hair of a homeless man, she decided to get married to him.
In 2009, Juan Mendoza Alvizar washed vehicles outside an Oxxo store when Luz Yesenia Geronimo Cerna of Nuevo San Juan, Michoacán, Mexico, encountered him.
She asked Juan, who was at the time sleeping on the streets if she could give him a makeover.
Their love story has now become widely popular on the social media platform TikTok.
Photos of the store and the surrounding area that depict Juan’s living circumstances while living on the streets are used as the video’s opening images.
An image of Juan from that time is shown, revealing dirt on his face and messy hair.

Then Luz, 30, transforms him, giving him a fresh haircut and cleaning him up to make him look clean and presentable.
The video then goes to pictures of her, Juan, 31, and their three children, Larissa, 12, Kimberly, 9, and Zazil, 3, taken after their 2011 wedding.
Luz claims in the social media video that she knew they would have a future together when she first saw him and that it was obvious he would become her husband.
Although Juan was in a desperate circumstance, she also fell in love with the way he treated and cared for other people.
Luz recalled their first encounter as “love at first sight.”
“His manner of treating people was the first thing I noticed.”
She said she was taken aback by how the haircut changed his appearance.
“I was a little taken aback by how great his haircut looked.
“Our relationship was excellent from the start and was just what I was searching for. And his extremely well-to-do family claims to love me and treat me as if I were their daughter.
Currently, Juan is a mason who also fixes cell phones in his spare time.
She claims that when she met Juan, she discovered exactly what she was hoping for.
“There is no question that he who searches finds; with him, I discovered the other half that I was looking for,” said Luz when she posted the video.
Over 4.7 million people watched TikTok, and 331,000 people liked it.
“I’m going to OXXO,” one person said.
Another commenter made light of the situation by saying: “You can find everything at Oxxo, what amazing service,” followed by an emoji for laughter.
I’m going to live in a run-down area, someone else stated.
A flurry of comments on the video was sparked by the attractive duo, with some remarking that Juan had finally been given a chance he needed.
His current residence is remarkably different from the place where he previously resided.
His situation has also drastically changed; he now has a wife and family, is able to work, and can earn a living to support their children.
Another fan exclaimed, “You are a queen, you actually gave him a chance in the world!”
Another fan chimed in, “You still look so nice together.”
