Toby Keith revealed that he had been battling cancer since the end of the previous year.
The 60-year-old country music performer revealed in a message uploaded on social media that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer and was actively fighting it with multiple therapies.
He said things were “So far, so good,” despite the fact that he was vague about his prognosis and current state of health.
Keith started his statement by saying, “Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer.” “I’ve been undergoing chemo, radiation, and surgery for the past six months.”
He appeared positive about his state of health and eager for some downtime.
So far, so good, the gentleman said. “I need to breathe, rest, and heal.”
‘I am looking forward to spending this time with my family,’ Keith said as he wrapped up his plans for some alone time before hitting the road again. “But I will definitely see the supporters shortly. I am eager.” —T.’
Keith is scheduled to perform at Ribfest in Wheaton, Illinois, on June 17 and in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on the following day.
The Ohio State Fair cancelled the singer’s July 28 performance shortly after he made the cancer announcement, indicating he might be off the road at least through next month.
Although Keith has been a well-liked country musician since the beginning of the 1990s, his major break came in 1999 with the publication of his smash hit single How Do You Like Me Now?
The song peaked at number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles list, demonstrating the single’s considerable crossover appeal. It was the number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
Keith received the National Medal of Arts from then-President Donald Trump in January 2021, just after the House of Representatives voted to remove Trump from office for a second time. Trump had been Keith’s supporter.

I love all of Toby Keith’s songs. There are only a few artists where I love all their songs on their albums, but Toby is one of the very few who always has great songs! I like I Love this Bar, I’m Not as Good as I Once Was, You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like This, How Do You Like Me Now, Red, White and Blue (my husband likes), Whose That Driving My Car, and too many others to name.

Praying for him I’m not sure of the song name I’m bad at tha but it the one he wrote after 9/11 I really loved all his music. He was not afraid to sing songs that most people would never touch
