Ana de Armas is talking openly about the process of portraying Marilyn Monroe in the fictitious biography Blonde. She claims that going to the late icon’s grave is included.
The 34-year-old actress said in an interview with AnOther magazine that she and the Blonde cast and crew placed a handwritten letter on Monroe’s grave on the first day of filming.
According to de Armas, “the entire team wrote a message to her on this large card we received.” “We then proceeded to her burial at the cemetery. In a sense, we were requesting approval.”

“We were all extremely conscious of the side of the story we were going to tell—the story of Norma Jeane, the real-life Marilyn Monroe who inspired this character—and everyone felt a great sense of duty. Who was she in truth?” added the Deep Water star.
The new film, which was written and is being directed by Andrew Dominik, is based on a novel by Joyce Carol Oates that tells the dramatized story of Marilyn Monroe’s life before her sad death in 1962.
De Armas also spoke on the process of taking on such a strong image, which, as she acknowledged, occasionally affected her private life.
She said, “I know the weight of it stuck with me. “I’d come home and study for the following day, and then Andrew would be on the phone till midnight, so there was no way to unplug.”
The Knives Out actor said, “When I went to sleep, I would dream that I had long chats with her. I would often go home for dinner, and while I washed the dishes, I would simply start crying uncontrollably because I knew I couldn’t solve it. I was thinking about her all the time.
She earlier told reporters at the Venice Film Festival that she believes Marilyn Monroe’s ghost visited the set of No Time to Die when it was being made. “She was very near to us, I’m sure of it. We had her with us, “as reported by Entertainment Weekly. “I believe she was happy. She occasionally threw items off the wall and became angry if she didn’t like something. It may seem extremely magical, yet this is actually the case. All of us felt it.”
Blonde is now showing in a few theatres and will be streaming on Netflix on September 28.
