King Charles III’s coronation will be a great occasion. Still, the date of the traditional ritual has caused some embarrassing conflicts for the royal family.
The crowning of the new monarch will take place on Saturday, May 26, 2023, in Westminster Abbey amid considerable spectacle. There will be six fundamental stages: recognition, oath, anointing, and investiture, which include crowning, enthronement, and homage.
Despite the absence of a definite guest list, it is anticipated that all members of the royal family, as well as national and international dignitaries and representatives from the religious community, will attend to witness King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla’s coronation.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who would have been anticipating marking another significant milestone on that day, will, however, be inconvenienced by the time of the event.

Archie, who resides in California with Harry, Meghan, and Lilibet, his 1-year-old sister, is now officially a prince as a result of Charles’ succession to the throne.
But whether he will use the title of Prince or whether Lili will use that of the princess has not been confirmed by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex or Buckingham Palace.
Apart from the fact that it is also the birthdate of George Clooney and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, the date of Charles’ coronation is important for a variety of additional reasons.
The Earl of Snowdon and Princess Margaret, the sister of the Queen, who wed in 1960 and divorced in 1978, share the same anniversary.
King Edward VII, Queen Victoria’s son, passed away on May 6, 1910, which was also the day of Charles’ great-great-grandfather’s passing.
The Government, the Church of England, and the Royal Household were consulted in choosing the date, according to the Palace, but no other information regarding the selection process has been provided.
During the illustrious event, Charles will be blessed, anointed with holy oil, and given the orb, coronation ring, and scepter. He will also be crowned with the magnificent St. Edward’s Crown.
Like the Queen Mother was when she was made monarch in 1937, Camilla will likewise be anointed with holy oil and crowned.
The Palace added that the event would be “rooted in long-standing traditions and pageantry” even while it stated that it would “reflect the monarch’s role today and look toward the future.”
