Sylvester Stallone recently gave a heartfelt interview in which he honestly discussed his friend Bruce Willis’ diagnosis with the brain disorder aphasia and subsequent retirement from performing.
The Die Hard actor’s diagnosis “kills me,” said Stallone, 75, who has known Willis, 67, for decades and worked with him in The Expendables and The Expendables 2. Stallone also claimed that Willis had been “incommunicado” since receiving the news.
The Rocky star told The Hollywood Reporter: “Bruce is going through some really, really difficult times.” He has so been rather unavailable. That kills me. It’s really sad.
When Willis’ condition was made public back in March, Stallone posted a photo montage with his former Planet Hollywood co-star, writing: “We go back a long way, hope for the best for you and your great family…
During Willis’ ex-wife Demi Moore’s 30th birthday celebration at Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park in 1992, the first photo included in the Rambo star’s tribute post was taken.
Stallone and Willis were riding a thrill ride in the park with Brigitte Nielsen, a model.
Another image from that same appearance on the David Letterman Show in 2008 shows the pair riding motorcycles.
In 2011, at the HBO documentary His Way premiere, which traces the life of renowned producer Jerry Weintraub, Stallone also included a picture of himself and the Die Hard actor interacting on the red carpet.
Last but not least, the Predator star revealed a photo taken behind the scenes while the first or second Expendables movie was being filmed.
In just two years, in the summer of 2012, the sequel to the original Expendables, which debuted in theaters in 2010, was released.
The third installment was supposed to star Willis, who previously played CIA agent Mr. Church, but he withdrew due to an alleged unmet “money demand.”
Stallone published an angry tweet directed at the Red star not long after the news broke that Harrison Ford had agreed to replace Willis.
The Escape Plan actor penned the following in September 2013: “GREEDY AND LAZY…… A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE.”
Despite the widespread criticism, Stallone stated in a September interview that he still thought of Willis as a “lifelong buddy” and that his tweet was the result of “frustration.”
A little over a year later, Stallone announced on Twitter that he and Willis had finally patched things up.
He wrote on Facebook in November 2014, “Made up with BRUCE W. A stand up person, my mistake.”
After receiving a diagnosis of the brain disorder aphasia, which weakens language skills, Hollywood legend Willis quit acting earlier this year.
His condition has been openly discussed by his family, which has had an impact on his capacity for speaking and understanding speech.
His family is supporting him in any way they can and has “rallied around him in a huge way to help Bruce cope with what is to come,” according to People.
Mabel, 10, and Evelyn, 8, are the two daughters Bruce has with Emma Heming, his wife of four years, whom he married in 2009.
He was “moving aside from the career that has meant so much to him,” according to a joint statement Bruce’s blended family released at the end of March.
He “has been suffering some health concerns and has lately been diagnosed with aphasia, which is affecting his cognitive ability,” according to the statement.
Along with Emma, Mabel, and Evelyn, his ex-wife Demi Moore and the three daughters she has with Bruce, Rumer (34), Scout (31), and Tallulah (28) all signed the declaration.
Aphasia is referred to be “a disorder that affects your capacity to communicate” by the Mayo Clinic. It “may affect your speech, as well as the way you write and understand both spoken and written language.”
The actor’s family withheld the cause of his incident of aphasia, which can have a variety of possible causes.
The condition could develop after a stroke or head injury, or it might be an early stage of a brain tumor or Alzheimer’s disease. Speech therapy and instruction in nonverbal communication are frequently used to treat patients who have the disorder.
This comes after Bruce and John Travolta reconnected in the exciting trailer for their new movie, Paradise City.
On November 14 in the UK, his most recent film will be made available digitally.
The action movie, which is scheduled for release on November 11, is one of many that Willis finished before his family revealed in March that he was quitting acting after being diagnosed with aphasia.
Aside from their roles in Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 crime masterpiece Pulp Fiction, Willis and Travolta, both 68, appear to be working together extensively for the first time in this movie.
In the movie, Willis plays an elderly bounty hunter going on one of his most perilous assignments ever in Hawaii. His son Ryan (Blake Jenner) joins forces with his father’s ex-partner (Stephen Dorff) to track out his killers after he is shot and assumed dead while battling a vicious criminal lord (Travolta).

We sincerely pray for Bruce Willis for a speedy recovery. Don’t forget to spread the news so that we can hear from more people.
