Scarlett Johansson recently embarked on a unique kind of blind date—one that involved tail wags, face kisses, and a bouquet of plush roses.

A longtime advocate for animal rescue, Scarlett was thrilled to team up with The Dodo for their Dream Date series, a heartwarming project aimed at pairing celebrities with shelter dogs in need of a loving home.

This time, her date was a senior pittie mix named Ocean, and the day was nothing short of magical.

Ocean, a 12-year-old pit bull mix, has had her share of challenges. Rescued from an overcrowded shelter by Muddy Paws Rescue in New York City, she’s a gentle, single mom who’s been waiting for her perfect match.

Despite her rough start, Ocean’s affectionate nature and soulful eyes quickly stole the hearts of the rescue team.

The blind date took place at the office of The Outset, Scarlett’s skincare line, where Ocean was in for a day of pampering. From the moment Scarlett arrived with a plush bouquet of red roses, Ocean’s playful side came to life.

She excitedly grabbed the stuffed flowers, treating them as her new favorite toy until, in true dog fashion, she eventually tore them to shreds.

A Spa Day Fit for a Star

The date began with a little bit of nervous energy on both sides. “At first, we were both a little shy and a little bit sort of nervous to meet each other,” Scarlett shared. “But I have to say, she warmed up almost immediately, and we’re just getting to know each other now.”

Ocean’s day of luxury included a dog-friendly smoothie, a mani-pedi, and plenty of snuggles. Scarlett, who has two rescue dogs of her own—Maggie and Pancake—knew just how to make Ocean feel at ease.

She even tried to recreate a spa classic by placing cucumber slices over Ocean’s eyes. However, Ocean had her own ideas about the cucumbers and quickly turned the moment into a playful snack break.

A Special Visit to The Outset Office

The Outset team was just as excited to meet Ocean as Scarlett was. “Everybody at The Outset office is really excited to meet a star,” Scarlett joked as she introduced Ocean to her colleagues.

Ocean, ever the charmer, greeted everyone with her signature full-body wiggles and face kisses, making an unforgettable impression.

As the day progressed, Scarlett found herself wondering why Ocean was still waiting for a home. “I don’t think you’re going to have any problem finding a forever home because you’re exceptionally adorable, very cuddly, and that’s what we’re all looking for,” she told Ocean, affectionately rubbing her ears.

Scarlett’s hope for Ocean was simple but heartfelt: to help her find a loving family who would appreciate her gentle spirit and affectionate nature. “I think you’re going to find a forever home pretty easily,” she said, as Ocean wagged her tail in agreement.

And Scarlett’s prediction turned out to be spot on. Shortly after their date, Ocean found her forever home, thanks to the exposure and love she received during her day with Scarlett.

A Mission to Change Lives

As Scarlett said her goodbyes to Ocean, it was clear that their bond was genuine. The date wasn’t just a chance encounter; it was a reminder of the incredible impact a little love and attention can have on a rescue dog’s life.

Scarlett Johansson’s blind date with Ocean was a beautiful example of compassion, joy, and second chances. And for Ocean, it was the start of a new chapter—one filled with love, snuggles, and the forever home she truly deserves.
