Kev Harrison stands with his son Daniel Harrison, 15, who has Asperger’s syndrome, as they smile for the camera.
Hundreds of birthday wishes were sent to Daniel’s father via Twitter after he asked for them on his son’s special day. Numerous well-known celebrities were among the thousands of strangers who responded quickly.
The boy has two goals: he wants to become a better driver, and he wants to socialize more. Although the kid is still too young to obtain a driver’s license, his second desire appears to have come true.
Daniel took revenge after learning that his father had written a tweet on his 15th birthday that had gone popular online.
The father wrote, “Daniel is my son.” The guy is severely autistic. He doesn’t have any friends at all. He enjoys his family’s company as he celebrates his birthday today.
His two aims in his ECHP were to learn to drive and meet new people, said Nottingham, England, resident Kev Harrison in a tweet on September 28. “I appreciate you sending him a birthday greeting. Please give him a hug to show him how much you care. I appreciate you giving me your opinion.
What happened next completely shocked 52-year-old Harrison. Thousands of strangers, including a few celebrities, wrote birthday wishes to Daniel and promised their friendship. His tweet has received more than a million views. The first message has received support from thousands of more people.
Daniel’s my son. Profoundly Autistic. Hasn’t one friend. It’s his birthday today. In his ECHP he wrote that his two wishes were to learn to drive and make friends 😣 Please wish him a happy birthday. Please show him you care. Please share. ##happybirthday #autism #rt pic.twitter.com/Psu97TSj6g

Harrison said he was “blown away” by the crowd’s enthusiasm.
After looking over Daniel’s education, health, and care (EHC) plan, which is a part of a government program that helps determine the proper levels of assistance for children and young people with disabilities, the man was inspired to post the tweet. He and his wife, Catherine, are responsible for developing Daniel’s EHC plan.
Things that are important to me or things I would like to accomplish were how Daniel answered a question on the questionnaire. Putting “drive a car” and “make friends” in the same sentence.
Harisson stated, “It broke our hearts.” The parent noted that although his child attends a special needs school, he hasn’t yet made any new friends. He travels around the playground by himself in his world.
Daniel was given a severe autism diagnosis when he was a child, according to his father. As a result, he refused to eat for several years. Although he is verbal, he struggles to take part in a conversation and only answers in “typical ways.”
In his 15 years, Harrison claims, “He has experienced a lot.” He is a beautiful, pleasant, and nice young man, and only the best will do. There is not one unpleasant bone in the entire body of this man.
Harrison posted on Twitter to spread knowledge about autism spectrum disease and give his child a special birthday message. He was unaware that his tweet would quickly rise to the top of the national trending topics. Only a few people, at most, were the ones the person was expected to respond to.
Harrison said, “It was amazing.
According to the author, the response was “quite unexpected.” “I didn’t know what to expect.”
After Harrison’s tweet went viral, prominent figures with large followings began retweeting the message, and the father’s Twitter account quickly became flooded with hundreds of birthday greetings for Daniel.
Surprised by a poem from an 11-year-old named Olly, Lennie, a 9-year-old, played a happy birthday song on the piano for Daniel.
A birthday banner made by Indiana students and displayed in Daniel’s classroom was created especially for him. Autistic people also reach out to others, offering encouragement and telling them that things will improve.
While hundreds of people congratulated Daniel on becoming a buddy, one Twitter user pointed out something Harrison found particularly inspiring: “Your lovely father is a great friend of yours!”

Harrison does his best to read the lovely messages to Daniel and respond to each one personally, although he is still sorting through them all.
He wrote in a tweet that he hoped the overwhelming support would encourage others to show kindness to people in their communities who have special needs.
Harrison said, “I’ve succeeded in my mission if I’ve even persuaded one person to view another young kid from a different perspective.
