Despite just being eight years old, Greyson Brooks is already proving that he is a caring child with a good heart. The third-grader recently created a touching method to remember his late brother Wyatt. The latter passed away from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) at the age of four months in 2017.
According to Greyson and Wyatt’s mother, Destiny Hayes, “He doesn’t want Wyatt to be forgotten.” After his younger brother, whom he nicknamed Bubba, went away, her oldest son reportedly started carrying a framed portrait of him. When Greyson was three years old, he was constantly asking about Wyatt’s whereabouts and expected return, according to Hayes.

Wyatt was just such a very sweet baby, the 33-year-old continued. As she prepared one backpack rather than two during back-to-school season, Hayes, who also has a 3-year-old daughter called Hazel, revealed that she was feeling depressed.
Greyson and Wyatt would have taken the school bus together for the first time in 2022. Wyatt never got the chance to say “Mama,” and Hayes said, “I wonder what he would look like now.” “Every time he achieves a new milestone, it brings up sentiments for me because I have a nephew who was born a few weeks after Wyatt.”

Thankfully, Greyson had the ideal plan to remember his late sibling and cheer up his mother. With the request that the crayons, markers, & writing paper be used by incoming kindergarteners as Wyatt would have been in that class, the youngster last month delivered $350 worth of items to Estes Elementary School in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Greyson said to the Messenger-Inquirer that he had done it in memory of his infant sibling who had died. I wanted to donate the items so they could benefit the entire school.
Greyson adored his brother, Wyatt, who died in 2017.
Greyson launched an online fundraiser with his parents’ support to raise money for the kindergarten materials. The boy said, “It makes me incredibly happy.” “After some thinking, I had the idea, told my mother about it, and we carried it out.
We packed a lot of paper, crayons, erasers, and other supplies.” When Greyson approached her with this thoughtful suggestion to remember Wyatt, she was proud of him, Hayes recalled. Nobody enjoys losing a baby, but if there is anything we can do in his honor in the future, she said, “we would definitely want to keep doing this.”

Hayes described Greyson as “an incredibly sweet kid” and said, “We’re simply glad he wants to help everyone.” Even though he’s only 8, he is aware that there are others who are struggling. She disclosed that the youngster walked through the aisles choosing goods he believed Wyatt would like. “I’m really pleased with him.
He went and selected everything by himself, “Hayes revealed. He’ll always comment, “Bubba would like this,” while he’s doing anything enjoyable. Estes Elementary School’s Ryan Williams, the principal, commended Greyson for his service to the campus community. Williams stated that the world needs more people with large hearts like his.
