Couple Welcomes Two Sets of Identical Twin Girls

When New Orleans postal carrier Peyton Larry and his wife, Farrah, shared the exciting news of their pregnancy on Mother’s Day, they didn’t know how amazing their journey would become.

What started as a regular doctor’s appointment turned into an incredible surprise: Farrah was carrying quadruplet daughters. Even more surprising? These four babies were two sets of identical twins! And all this happened without any fertility treatments.

“I was laughing and crying at the same time,” said Farrah, 29. “My husband looked like he was about to pass out.”

A Rare Phenomenon

On November 20, after 32 weeks of pregnancy, Farrah gave birth to four healthy baby girls through a cesarean section. Each baby weighed around 4 pounds.

The newborns’ names—Lyric, Paisley, Psalm, and Fallyn—were chosen in a fun way. The couple wrote their favorite names on slips of paper, and as each baby was delivered, Peyton picked a name randomly for her.

“As the baby came out, he would pull out the name and say, ‘Alright, this is Lyric,’” Farrah said with a laugh.

Their situation is extremely rare. Dr. Jane Chueh, a maternal-fetal medicine expert at Stanford Children’s Health, explained that naturally conceiving quadruplets who also happen to be two sets of identical twins is incredibly unlikely—only about one in 750,000 to one in a million.

“It’s quite a feat for the parents,” Dr. Chueh said.

Life at Home with the “Quad Squad”

After spending a few weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), the “quad squad” came home to Slidell, Louisiana. There, they joined their energetic 2-year-old brother, PJ. Adjusting to life with five kids under the age of three has been an adventure.

“I’m sleeping maybe three and a half hours a night,” Farrah said. Peyton, also 29, joked, “I’ve given up on sleep altogether. It’s like one long blink.”

The couple’s daily routine is packed. Farrah, who is nursing all four girls, said they go through about 30 diapers a day and each baby needs eight feedings. “It’s nonstop,” she said, though she kept her positive attitude.

Double Trouble: Telling Them Apart

Having two sets of identical twins brings its own challenges, especially when it comes to telling the babies apart.

“My mom jokes about marking their toes with different colors,” Farrah said. “For now, we’re just winging it and mostly getting it right.” Peyton added, “The toughest part is definitely identifying who’s who.”

A Growing Family, A Growing Village

To handle their busy household, Farrah has paused her transportation business to focus on parenting, while Peyton continues his job with the Postal Service.

The couple knows they’ll face challenges, like buying a bigger car, possibly moving out of their three-bedroom house, and saving for college for all five kids. But they’re staying optimistic.

“I can’t stress about it,” Farrah said. “We’ve never been without, and we’ve always managed to make it work. I’m grateful.”

Farrah’s mom, Sue Dixon, who the grandkids call “GiGi,” has been a huge help. She even started a GoFundMe campaign to help with expenses, showing how much support the family has.

“They have a huge, huge village,” Dixon said. “We’re all wrapping our arms around them, and they’re going to be fine.”

Faith, Gratitude, and the Road Ahead

Looking back on their incredible journey, Farrah and Peyton are amazed at how their family has grown. Though they originally thought they’d have just two or three kids, Farrah now believes this was meant to happen.

“I can’t see it any other way now,” she said.

Their faith has kept them strong through this life-changing experience. “Clearly God has a plan for these girls,” Farrah said. “The odds were against us, but we’ve just got to trust Him.”

Even with sleepless nights and constant feedings, the Larry family is embracing every moment of their unique and loving life together.
