Despite being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, actress Jane Fonda says she feels “stronger than she has in years.”
On September 6, she wrote a lengthy blog post stating that she has been “truly affected and uplifted by all the outpouring of love and support” since going public with her illness. Jane Fonda, who has faced cancer twice previously, promised followers that her sickness is “quite manageable” this time and that she is determined to “get through very well.”
“Many have asked how I am feeling,” Grace and Frankie star Jane said, addressing how she is feeling just weeks after her first chemotherapy treatment.
“Well, today, almost three weeks after my first chemo session, I must tell you that I feel stronger than I have in years.”
“The doctor informed me that the best cure to the fatigue that chemotherapy might induce is to move, walk. And I have started walking very early before the unbearable heat kicks in.”
“I’m also exercising.”
With her first video, Jane Fonda’s Workout, released in 1982, maintaining a level of physical fitness should not be a problem for the Hollywood icon, even if she is in her mid-80s.
Although this is sufficient evidence, Jane also uploaded a YouTube video of squats against a giant green ball while clutching a pair of dumbbells, demonstrating that she is more than capable of exercising despite her diagnosis.

Jane, aware of her age, also stated that she does not expect to live for “many decades” after beating cancer again.
“Since last week, so many individuals have written to me or stated that they have had this sort of cancer and have remained cancer-free for many decades,” she wrote.
“Well, I’ll soon be 85 years old, so I won’t have to worry about many decades.’ One will plenty.”
Jane quickly moved on from her diagnosis, stating that she knows that not everyone is as fortunate as she is to afford high-quality healthcare in the United States.
“As I stated in my statement last week, I am painfully aware that the first-rate treatment I receive is not something everyone in this nation can count on, & I consider that a travesty,” she added.
“It isn’t fair, & I will continue to push for quality health care for all.”
The Barbarella icon also stated that she is “more motivated than ever” to continue her work “confronting the urgent global crisis, fueled by fossil fuels” and that she will continue to push for the cause despite her illness.
“Most of you are aware that I am committed to fighting the critical climate issue caused by fossil fuels through my continuous work with Fire Drill Fridays (we just had our 10 millionth viewer last Friday!) and my most recent work with the Jane Fonda Climate PAC,” the actress explained.
“This illness has only boosted my determination to continue fighting the devastating effects of fossil fuels.”
“While most of us are aware that fossil fuels are the principal cause of the climate issue, many may be unaware that fossil fuel emissions also cause cancer as well as other serious health problems such as birth defects, childhood leukaemia, heart attacks, strokes, lung illness, and preterm birth.”
“We must find a way to work together to end this fatal correlation.”
“It doesn’t have to be this way. We can change this, and I intend to do all in my power to do so. “Cancer will not stop me.”
