The opportunity to photograph a blue whale up close is already a once-in-a-lifetime moment for wildlife photographers. However, if anyone could have predicted it, this photographer was much lucky. He witnessed the amazing image of a giant whale appearing to blow a rainbow heart!
Tanakit Suwanyangyaun, who was clearly in the right position at the right time, was able to record an extremely stunning optical illusion.
One of these massive marine animals was photographed by the 36-year-old photographer as it emerged from the water and blew its blowhole. However, at precisely the moment the whale blew the water droplets, the light was exactly right to throw a gorgeous rainbow heart over the massive beast.

The Bangkok-based photographer came across the incredible experience while on vacation diving. Suwanyangyaun, who was residing on a boat in the Maldives, believed Sri Lanka was not too far away, so we made the decision to go and explore. We wanted to go around the area in hopes of finding blue whales, which are the largest living thing on Earth.
However, when Suwanyangyaun eventually came face to face with these amazing creatures, he was unable to believe what he was seeing. It was unquestionably a stressful circumstance.
“The scale is beyond my wildest thoughts,” the lucky photographer remembers, “and this shot was particularly lucky since it captured the breath that looked like a rainbow. The photographs help me to realize a lifetime dream of mine, which was to swim with blue whales because it was such an amazing experience. I consider it an honor to be able to capture and broadcast such noteworthy events to a global audience.
Blue whale swimming was such an amazing experience; I had always wanted to try it, says Suwanyangyaun. I was quite fortunate because we only had a brief glimpse of each whale before it disappeared as they passed by fairly quickly. I would return numerous times if given the chance.
