A Woman Who Is 101 Years Old Claims That Tequila Is The "Secret" To Her Long Life And Happiness

A woman who recently turned 101 has disclosed the peculiar secret to her long life and happiness: tequila.

While celebrating her milestone birthday with family and friends on November 2, artist Mary Flip, who is originally from Illinois but now resides in Arizona, gave wise life advice.

When asked to reveal the “secret to life” by her daughter, Mary responded, “Oh, my secret. Well, I have no idea. Tequila,” claims the neighborhood news source Arizona Family.

After losing her mother and sister during the Great Depression, leaving her as the only survivor from her family at the tender age of 15, Mary, who was born in 1921, moved south of the border when she was just 18 years old.

She met her husband while living in Mexico

She met her husband while living in Mexico, and the two were married and started living “a tranquil life as a rancher” before returning to Chicago, where Mary started making art.

While living in Chicago, the couple welcomed their first child, and Mary established herself as a well-known artist, eventually receiving distinction from the Chicago School of Art.

Mary attributed her love of art, along with tequila, to giving her a creative outlet while caring for her six children.

She admitted to Arizona Family, “I really enjoy to draw.”

“And I discovered that things alter even as you’re drawing them,” she continued. So I was able to create them and give them a realistic appearance. I had nothing else to do but raise a lot of kids, so it took some time.

Mary has experienced several hardships during the course of her long life. She has endured battles, including World War II, the coronavirus pandemic, and the Great Depression, which she saw firsthand by losing family members.

Arizona Family revealed that she cracked many jokes during her birthday party, demonstrating that she has managed to keep a sarcastic sense of humor throughout it all.

How do you feel, Ma?” her daughter inquired. The mother of six responded right away, saying, “With my hand.”

Although Mary made it known how much she loved tequila, she decided to mix things up for her 101st birthday drink and salute the occasion with a glass of Guinness, her favorite brew.

Mary, who was sporting a birthday crown and a badge that read “one year hotter,” also made it clear that she was prepared to get down at her birthday celebration, even cracking the joke that she was going to “climb up on the table” to dance.

And while many people do not believe in the mystical properties of tequila, there is evidence to support its various health advantages, some of which may even help you live longer.

The Mexican spirit has been demonstrated to reduce blood pressure, according to the American Chemical Society.

Tequila use reduces dementia risk by 37% in addition to decreasing blood pressure, according to a Wake Forest University study.
