A chatty owl makes weekly visits to a grandmother, whom her family believes is a sign from her deceased husband.
The owl pays Ranna, 98, a visit almost every day and spends the entire day sitting on her balcony. It even tries to leap onto her lap and “chats” back to her when she hoots at it.
When Shai Ward, 34, visited her grandmother Ranna at her Phoenix, Arizona, home, she recorded the sweet video.
Shai, an insurance agent from Scottsdale, noticed that Ranna had a special relationship with the animal and was convinced that he meant something unique.
Exactly two years after her beloved grandfather’s memorial service, the owl made its first appearance on Ranna’s balcony on February 24 of this year.
Grandpa Bob, Ranna’s husband of nearly 70 years and Shai’s 92 year old grandfather, passed away in February 2020.
Shai believes her granny is the owl’s favorite visitor, despite the fact that he does visit the apartment complex and is well-known to the other neighbors.
Ranna, who asks that her last name not be used, is still not certain that her visitor is actually a divine sign.

But according to her granddaughter, Bob is sure to be keeping an eye on his love from the rest of his close-knit family. My grandparents were close friends and held high regard for one another, according to Shai.
They emanate love, and you could feel it! “My grandmother is the kindest person I know. She is a devoted Catholic who credits the higher power with all that has happened in her life. The most awesome grandma ever!
Her wit and sass prove that 98 is but a number. We are all fortunate to have her in our corner since she is a giver at heart.
Our entire family simply loved her and my grandfather as one, and their relationship was a sight to behold.
