When he revealed that he had paid off her mortgage on her 31st birthday, a Welshman shocked his ex-partner live on TikTok.
Following their breakup in February, Shaun Nyland, who has approximately 5 million followers combined with Cat Keenan, made the enormous gesture to keep Cat Keenan’s roof over her head.
Shaun, who has 3 million followers on the social networking platform, recorded himself throwing a set of house keys at Cat before declaring that she was the rightful owner of everything.
Cat, who has more than 1.6 million followers, is confused and assumes her boyfriend is playing a practical joke on her until he says: “I want you to have the best birthday ever because it’s your birthday today.
“Although I know that we are no longer together and that you struggle to pay the mortgage each month, I want to express my admiration for you as the best mother ever.
The house is now yours after I took action, called the bank, and paid off the entire mortgage.

When Shaun informs Cat that he has a birthday surprise in store for her
Shaun finally understood it when she paid off her six-figure mortgage.
There is no “nastiness” between the former couple, which is a source of relief and joy.
Cat won’t accept Shaun’s explanation until she opens an email from the bank verifying she has no outstanding debt related to the house. She is still convinced he is playing a joke on her.
As Cat embraces him in shock, Shaun continues, “You deserve it. Shaun, 30, won’t reveal precisely how much it cost him, only that it was in the six digits.
Since they parted ways after spending seven years together, the couple has kept their friendship pleasant. Before joining TikTok in October 2019, they were both in their early twenties when they first met. They had just moved into a four-bedroom semi-detached townhouse in Llanwern.
The two quickly built up a sizable social media following, earning more daily on TikTok than their monthly payments, enabling them to quit their day jobs. Here is where you may read about their journey.
They discovered the money was coming in through sharing “silly comedy films,” which included pranks, Christmas escapades, and a common game of Yes/No they played with one another. Tommy, Cat’s child from a previous relationship, and Leo, the couple’s child, frequently appeared in the videos.
The Newport couple, who had previously worked as a dog walker and a sales manager at Parcelforce, changed everything for them when they left their jobs to devote their full time to creating content for the social media app. They had to work closely together, though, and by the New Year, they could not repair their relationship.
We were working non-stop and getting on each other’s nerves, Cat claimed. “So we decided to part ways.”
While they were together, Shaun, Cat, Tommy, 9, and Leo, 4, were enjoying a family outing.
Shaun moved back to Gloucester with his parents after their divorce in 2021, where his social media business began to take off, and Cat remained in the family home. But Cat found it challenging to continue posting content, and she gradually saw that her regular source of revenue was disappearing.
As a result of the stress of her poor financial status, things grew so bad that she was compelled to change her lifestyle. She sold her Range Rover and lost more than a stone.
Shaun decided to help his ex after noticing that Cat wasn’t posting as frequently and realized she was in trouble.
I wanted to relieve her of that strain, he said, adding that he had made a little money via his TikTok account and other side hustles. “If I am capable of doing it, why not? She and Leo needed a roof over their heads, and I wanted to relieve Cat of some of the burden.”
Cat found the story: “The amount of work increased while we were together. It was difficult to travel alone.”
On October 13, when she turned 31, Shaun revealed his major news.
Shaun’s actions, she said, “were a great shock.”
Cat can now concentrate on making more content because she is no longer concerned about making monthly home payments.
Despite their split, the pair have remained close and friendly, and they feel Leo must see his parents get along.
Shaun agreed, “There’s no hatred between us.” On TikTok, his video has received around 4 million views.
I believe it’s heartwarming, he continued. And nice, which attracts viewers. It is unusual. It seems to me to be the ideal way to co-parent.
“I know not everyone can achieve what I’ve done, but children should come first,” the speaker said.
After she has recovered from the shock, Cat posts a follow-up video in which Shaun says to her: “Leo was born thanks to you, and it is the greatest present I have ever received. I’ve heard you say you’ve been struggling, and given how hard you’ve been working, it just makes sense to provide you and Leo a roof over your heads.”

The most excellent present a guy could receive, he claimed, was Leo, whom his girlfriend had brought into the world. And I know that trying to lead the same way we did while living alone was difficult for Cat.
“I’m just so happy that I’ve been lucky enough to be able to do this, not just for Cat but also for my baby so that he’s got a roof over his head for the rest of his life guaranteed, and I just think if you can do that then why wouldn’t you,” the woman said. For me, it was an obvious choice.
‘So proud of the person you’re becoming & everything you do for us,’ Cat herself said in response.
Another bystander responded to the effect it would have on the ex-couple’s child in the future.
