What he lacked in height, the statement added, he made up for compassion and magnificence as a son, brother, artist, comic, partner, and human being. “Today, the only consolation is the knowledge that he left this planet at the pinnacle of both his professional and personal lives

Jordan’s funny self-portrait videos, in which he talked in a twangy drawl about his colorful youth and Southern upbringing, helped him become an Instagram phenomenon during the coronavirus pandemic.

“When people started calling me last night to tell me that I had gone viral, I realized that I had blown up. I truly have no idea what that even means!” Jordan stated in 2020 to TODAY.

Jordan’s Instagram followers frequently left comments on the actor, informing him that his humor and narrative helped them get through difficult times.

“Right after the pandemic broke out, I had this friend who said, “You know what, Leslie? Right now, people really need to hear what you have to say. It’s not like waving your finger or ordering someone to put on a mask, do this, or do that. You just make me laugh,” Jordan said. “And so we began to think about several small ideas. I primarily do it for the public’s reaction.

Jordan said that he hoped that his videos would make his viewers laugh when they needed it the most. He was also open about his nearly 25 years of sobriety and his battle to embrace himself as a g*ay man.

The fact that each of us has a job is something we’re learning, particularly during this. The troops on the front lines are blessed by God. I can make people laugh, but I’m not a nurse, doctor, or teacher. That’s a gift that should be shared, he said.

“Right now, a lot of people feel lonely. I will have succeeded in this, and he continued, “if I can simply make one person feel a little less alone.”

Co-stars and friends from his time on “Will & Grace” sent their condolences after learning of his passing.
