Many pet owners go through feelings of loss when losing a pet comparable to those they go through when losing a close friend or relative. Some pet owners want to bury their animals in a pet cemetery. In contrast, others choose to bury them in their own gardens or keep their ashes in vases on their mantles.
People have been moved to tears by a stranger’s practice of placing sticks on dog graves in memory of “man’s best friend.” Someone placed little sticks on each of the dog graves in this cemetery, according to the heartwarming photo that was shared on Reddit.

More than 71,000 people have upvoted the post, and it has gotten 600 comments in which readers express their “welling up” reactions.
A user claimed: “These always make me cry, especially now that my dog is at the end of his life. We have always cherished our friends.”
“Dude, it’s too early to cry,” said another person.
Another user stated: “This particularly affected me because my dog passed over the Rainbow Bridge this morning. I think it’s fantastic, and whoever created it has a lovely soul.”
Other people expressed amazement at some of the gravestones’ age while making comments about the names of the dogs and the picture’s gravestones.
“I just enjoy the evolution of Lamb Chop, Sandy, Timmy, and Baron Fredrick Von Koch,” one person commented.
“I hope Baron Fredrick Von Koch is having a lovely time in dog heaven,” another commenter added.
A further user stated: “I knew there were pet cemeteries. Simply put, I had no idea that they had existed for at least 50 years. I love it.”
Sticks have also been placed at a dog’s tomb in New York’s Green-Wood Cemetery by visitors, so this isn’t the first pet cemetery where people have given sticks to dogs for enjoyment in the afterlife.
When the Covid-19 outbreak began, people began passing Rex’s grave while out on lockdown walks. Rex was the devoted pet of Jon E. Stow, one of Brooklyn’s top fruit merchants in the 1800s.
One Twitter user tweeted about Rex’s grave and said: “For a dog named Rex, there is a gravestone. He is still a sweet boy, so people bring him sticks and lay them at his feet.”
I needed this today, commented another user, “Oh my heart, how wonderful,” stated a third.
