A mother-in-law who showed up to her son’s wedding wearing a floor-length white gown received harsh criticism for upstaging the bride on her special day.
On social media, old photos of the bride’s mother wearing her lace wedding dress with long sleeves have surfaced. The two dresses appeared to be nearly identical.
The bride was seen standing awkwardly at her son’s other side while they posed for pictures, with the mother-in-law seen standing close to her son.
She might be seen crossing the groom’s chest in a second picture.

The wife posted on Reddit that her mother-in-law “truly wanted to be bride.”
She felt humiliated because she did not receive the response she had anticipated, which was to feel like the bride. Instead, she appeared to be a complete fool.
The guest, according to the bride, “practically” wore the same dress as her.
She urged the audience to consider the fabric, neckline, and sleeves.
“She wore a bridal gown, but I don’t think she knew what my dress looked like.”
“We Just Just Shook Our Heads.”
She remembered her mother-in-law’s stunning attire selection for her wedding in the late 1980s.
The bride said, “My parents told me to ‘rise above it’ and honestly, her outfit spoke for itself.”
“We simply shook our heads together… She wasn’t going to spoil my day, but what if it did today? Red wine would have stained that dress.”
“I didn’t need to respond since the clothing I was wearing was like a neon sign that read, “I’ve got issues. The truth is that she was more interested in getting attention than it was about her son.”
The pair filed for divorce after 15 years of marriage, according to the bride, who has three children with her ex-husband.
“He’s a nice guy who was embarrassed by his mother, but fortunately, we’re still good friends,” she added.
Many others stated that they wouldn’t have realized who was marrying the groom if the bride in the photo wasn’t holding the bouquet of flowers.
Is This A Polygamist Marriage Ceremony?
While other people claimed they believed they were viewing images of a “polygamist” wedding.
One jokingly said, “I truly believed I had scrolled past a polygamist wedding.”
One more said, “OMG, I had the same notion!”
The mother-in-law’s actions, according to others, were “creepy.”
“There would only be one bride at this wedding, therefore I would have advised the groom to choose one,” one wrote.
“That’s not even just a white dress,” another person said. “That garment is a bridal gown.”
“I’m not sure if you win or lose, but this is without a doubt the most heinous example of “dressed like the bride” I’ve ever seen,” one person commented. Congratulations on your divorce, and WTF.

Apparently the mother in law was sending her soon to be daughter in law a message, and the soon to be husband allowed it. I’m surprised the marriage lasted that long.
