72-year-old Robbie Coltrane passed away.
His agent revealed that the man who played Harry Potter passed away on October 14.
According to his agent Belinda Wright, the famous actor who played Rubeus Hagrid in the movie passed away on Friday.
In a statement, she broke the devastating news: “My client and friend Robbie Coltrane OBE passed away on Friday, October 14.
“Robbie was a special talent who, along with Sir Michael Gambon, holds the record for the most consecutive Best Actor Bafta wins for his portrayal of Fitz in the Granada TV series Cracker in 1994, 1995, and 1996.
His performance as Hagrid in the Harry Potter films, which delighted audiences worldwide and sparked a steady trickle of fan mail for more than 20 years, is certain to remain in people’s memories for decades.
James Bond fans have also written to praise his performances in GoldenEye, and The World Is Not Enough.”
“For me personally, I shall remember him as an abidingly devoted client,” Belinda continued after paying tribute to the celebrity. “He was not just a fantastic actor, but also forensically smart and incredibly funny. After 40 years of being honored to be his agent, I will miss him.”
On October 14, Stephen Fry said on Twitter in honor of Robbie Coltrane: “I first met Robbie Coltrane almost precisely 40 years ago.”
“I was simultaneously in wonder, terrified, and in love.”
“Such depth, power, and talent: comical enough to provoke pathetic hiccups and honking as we produced our first TV program, ‘Alfresco,'”
“Goodbye, old friend. You will be terribly missed.”
Between 1983 and 1984, they appeared as the lead actors in the comic series Alfresco.
According to his agency, Robbie is still alive and is survived by his sister Annie Rae, his children, Spencer and Alice, and their mother, Rhona Gemmell.
“They would like to express gratitude to the medical team at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert for their kindness and tact.
Please respect the privacy of Robbie’s family at this difficult time.
The cause of Robbie’s death has not yet been revealed, even though he was receiving treatment in a hospital in Scotland before he passed away.
The actor has always been very open about his struggle with osteoarthritis, a condition that makes joints uncomfortable and stiff.
The illness, which is the most common form of arthritis in the UK, has tormented him for a long time. However, it wasn’t until 2019 and a photo of him in a wheelchair that health concerns started to surface.
“I was fighting agony 24 hours a day when I was in National Treasure and Great Expectations, he said in September 2020, putting an end to the rumors.”
“My knee lacked cartilage. He explained that it was “bone on bone” and that he wouldn’t wish the condition “on [his] worst enemy.”
