When A Couple Learns They Were Long-Lost Childhood Sweethearts, They Are Shocked

A couple who got married during summer found out they were childhood sweethearts after they rediscovered each other in long-forgotten vacation photos from 20 years ago.

Before Heidi’s mother brought up a “holiday romance” with a young boy named Ed and dug up pictures that, to everyone’s surprise, showed her future husband, Heidi and Ed Savitt, 26, were unaware of their fateful encounter when they were just six years old.

“There’s no arguing with that – we’re clearly destined to be together,” communications manager Heidi told MailOnline. “I didn’t believe in fate before finding that out.”

The couple, who both live in London, met at Newcastle University in 2011. Ed, the proprietor of the Southfields speciality coffee store DropShot Coffee, read psychology and business while Heidi majored in economics and management.

When Ed first moved into the student residence where Heidi had previously resided, he messaged her to inquire how to operate the tumble dryer after seeing her name on a post.

Soon after they met, the couple began dating, and four years later, they were dining with their moms in Wandsworth, southwest London.

Fiona Savitt and Heidi’s mother, Kay Parker, soon struck up a conversation about their affinities for sailing vacations.

When she was six years old, Kay mentioned that Heidi had a “holiday lover” named Ed. Kay also mentioned that during the two-week vacation, the two played together and held hands a lot.

The talk rapidly shifted to other topics despite the fact that everyone felt it was an odd coincidence, and Fiona even shattered her wine glass in shock.

However, Kay discovered a dusty photo album from a sailing trip in Gumbet, Turkey, when she was cleaning up her attic two weeks later.

In one of the pictures from July 1997, Heidi was seated next to a young kid. Kay was shocked to discover Ed when she removed the dust; his face was easily identifiable behind the bowl-style hairstyle he had had as a child.

Kay reportedly screamed because it was so unbelievable. Naturally, I sent it to Fiona

We were all completely unaware that Ed and Heidi had met prior to their time at university. However, they primarily held hands throughout that two-week vacation.

Perhaps they simply realized in their subconscious minds that they had spent that time together when they first met as adults.

Once they began dating, the couple were “inseparable” and always knew they would wed.

It’s absurd to think that after getting married and beginning a life together, we might not have known about this, Heidi remarked.

“We knew we were destined to be together forever the day we started dating and were inseparable.”

Haddon Hall, a Derbyshire manor house built in the 12th century, was the site of the couple’s August wedding.

The next day, hundreds of guests attended a pool party after the reception at grade II listed Shiningford Farm, where there was also a late-night dance under a tipi.

In front of all of our family and friends, Heidi stated, “It was just so much fun to marry my best friend.”

“It completely blows my mind that we could have never learned that we first met all those years ago.

“Oh my gosh, that’s Ed!” I exclaimed when Kay showed me the picture of a young kid named Ed, Fiona recalled. That was incredible.

“We circulated it among all of our relatives and friends, and everyone was in awe.” Everyone liked it on Facebook, and the phones didn’t stop ringing.

Fiona and Jonathan Savitt and Kay and Keith Parker are now close friends, and the three of them frequently travel together.

The rest of the family gets along well. Heidi has two sisters, Hannah and Olivia, whereas Ed has three sisters, Emma, Maddy, and Matt.

In addition to Heidi and Ed, all of us also met on that vacation, Kay remarked. It is a truly nice and amazing story.
