It was a flowery misunderstanding.
Meghan Markle was caught in an awkward moment involving a bouquet while grieving the death of Queen Elizabeth II with her husband, Prince Harry, and Prince William and Kate Middleton.
In a video taken by a mourner outside Windsor Castle on Saturday, Markle was seen holding the bouquet when a royal aide approached her and asked if he might take the flowers from her hands. Markle ignored the offer and told the aide she would lay them down before returning to the crowd with the bundle still in her arms.

But then another aide came up to retrieve flowers Harry had received from a public member and reached for Markle’s bouquet. The “Suits” star appeared to refuse initially, but as the aide explained the circumstances, Markle complied and handed up the floral arrangement.
“The big guns had to step in when Meghan refused to get go of the flowers the first aide tried to take from her as she wanted to walk them over to the other tributes,” a fan account posted.
Several Twitter users speculated that Markle planned to keep the flowers and set them at the gate for a photograph.
“She wanted it for the optics, but it got squashed by others who know precisely what she’s trying to achieve,” one viewer wrote, adding, “I’m thinking, so she gets the money shot when she sets the flowers down with the other floral tributes.”
“She probably intended to be photographed and filmed when she walks alone, so place flowers over there and put an action.” If you think about it, she is a narcissist, always trying to make everything about her in every situation! “I’m glad she was caught!” A second agreed.
“She has no class,” a third added.
Other Twitter users, on the other hand, gave Markle the benefit of the doubt, claiming she was trying to mourn the Queen peacefully.
“Can’t believe the Meghan bashing has already begun. It’s the first time she’s experienced this, and she was doing her best she probably vowed to lay the flowers down personally, and that’s what she was about to do until Harry informed her it’s okay to pass them over,” one user tweeted in Markle’s defense.
“She probably didn’t realize that the flowers were removed for their safety.” After all, a little explosive device, nerve gas, a venomous insect, or any other things may be hidden in them,” a second fan of royal protocol explained.
“Oh my God…… STOP IT!!!! Leave this poor woman alone. Please take a deep breath….this will play out as it will. Be thankful that the entire world isn’t weighing in on every action YOU make. “Enough already,” wrote another.
Markle, 41, and Harry, 37, joined William and Middleton, both 40, to lay flowers outside Windsor Castle in honor of the late monarch.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared publicly with the newly crowned Prince and Princess of Wales for the first time since Commonwealth Day in March 2020.
According to a royal insider, William extended the offer to his estranged brother and sister-in-law, adding, “We are all very thankful – both sides putting all things aside for the Queen.”
When Buckingham Palace informed him that the Queen’s health was rapidly deteriorating, Harry hurried to her side. Still, he arrived after his grandmother’s death — without his wife, who thought she would not be warmly welcomed.
Monday, Harry issued a heartfelt message about losing the monarch.
“Granny, while this ultimate parting brings us great pain, I am forever thankful for all of our first meetings — from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my commander-in-chief, to the first moment you met my wonderful wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren,” he said.
“I love these days spent with you, as well as the many other great moments in between,” Harry wrote. “You are already missed.”
Sorry but Megan is just for Megan. Let the public take a photo of me placing flowers. Me, me, me.
You know I never thought she would have a motive for keeping hold of the flowers…however you are probably right

The lady who offered the flowers to Meghan specifically requested that they be left at the gate..Meghan assured her she would have that done. It was Meghans intention to lay the flowers at the gate herself I would think , when the aide unwittingly offered to take them from Meghan to free her hands. Meghan was simply caught off guard !!

I think there is a HUGE effort to make it politically incorrect to criticize Megan Markle. The funny part is people see right thru her no matter how much the media and others try to cover up her foibles!
