On this planet that we call Earth, there are well over a billion people. Some people will never encounter one another throughout their lifetimes, whilst others will do so frequently. Could you, however, picture walking past your future husband today and not realizing until years later that he was your future husband?
That’s exactly what occurred to one couple in China, after all. Before becoming husband and wife, Mr Ye and Mrs Xue learned that they had met 11 years before. They didn’t meet the traditional meaning of the word, but they were photographed in a public park shooting the same picture. They were standing next to their future spouse at the same time and place without realizing it.
It is almost amazing to think that two people, both from small towns, were in Qingdao at the same time, given that China has a population of over 1 billion people. These lovebirds’ home towns, which are small rural regions, are clearly on the opposite side of the country from Qingdao. The chances of having this kind of interaction with your future sweetheart are very, very slim.
The couple met, married, and started a family almost ten years after this extraordinary incident. The family saw the shocking picture while browsing through old photos one evening at Mrs Xue’s childhood home.
According to Mr Ye’s memory, “I heard her say before that she had been to Qingdao, while I had also gone to Qingdao and taken pictures in the May Fourth Square. We were not yet aware of it. As soon as he saw himself in the vision, he could identify himself virtually immediately.
“That was my pose for shooting shots. I was taken aback when I viewed the picture and experienced shivers all over my body. The same pose was captured at a different angle in the shot I also took.
The story went viral in China after he was able to find the identical photo that had been taken of him.
Many people have told the pair that they were indeed meant to be together based on this picture. The couple is obviously in awe of how fate worked out their meeting and how amazing it is.
They both agreed that Qingdao would always hold a special place in their hearts and said, “It looks like Qingdao is one of the most special cities for us. We’ll visit Qingdao once more when the kids are older, and the family will pose for another picture.
