Every person who has lived, who is living, and will be joining the herd in the future has a huge agenda to follow throughout their lifetime. The decisions and choices that have to be made, the goals and dreams that need to be achieved, the ambitions and promises that have to be fulfilled as well as the challenges and obstacles that have to be overcome, together with building up the life of every person in the world. The positivity and the negativity we face drive each of us throughout our lifetime.
As much as every person needs to be positive and think positive, the experiences we face and lessons we learn have a significant impact on our lives. From the time of birth, through the journey of life, we encounter various challenges which shape us and mold us throughout. We face different kinds of problems that can either make us or break us. It is believed that the best way to overcome your problems is to learn to love your problems.
Most of us who face problems try to mentally shut down the idea that we are facing
one. This is often since it would be more comfortable to consider them as challenges rather than problems. But it is also true that it would be easier to not be in denial, to consider them as actual problems, because the human brain is naturally engineered to solve problematic situations.
We tend to concentrate more on the things which interest us and the things we love. Positive thoughts, events, and experiences receive our attention than negative ones. Therefore, the first step toward solving your problems is to learn to love your problems. We may watch a movie any number of times based on how much we love the movie. We may spend any number of time as much as we can with our loved ones. We can spend the whole day immersed in a book we love. This is all since our mind and body, coordinate together to concentrate on the things we love.
Therefore, the best advice that can be given when dealing with setbacks is to learn to love your problems. At the very onset, when we think of the problems we have to face as each task we need to fulfill, or each goal we need to achieve, that would make it easier to concentrate.
The next way of overcoming your problems is to understand that every setback you meet in your life helps you to grow, improve and give you experience. When you realize that each problem you face gives you a life lesson, which you will not learn at high school, that is where you will automatically learn to love your problems. This way, you will be able to perceive your problems in a positive manner which will grab your attention better as well.
We encounter some people who take pleasure in defining their problems as undeniable gifts and in one way or another, it affects the mind’s ability to concentrate on solving the problems. Although you should learn to love your problems, embracing them as presents from God will only make you accustomed to a depressing living. Problems are meant to be solved and acceptance and denial will only make it much harder to overcome the setbacks.
Always consider yourself walking on a spiritual path. It will not only relax your soul but also increase your optimism and hope for a better future. It is widely believed that a healthy soul results in a healthy life. When you are physically and mentally steady, facing problems will not be a problem at all!
Accept that every moment of your life is planned. But it does not mean you cannot make a change. Sorting out the issues which need more attention and working towards solving them would be a good starting point. The choices we make decide the direction in which our life travels. So it is important to always have in mind that the decisions we make can impact our life, our goals, and our dream in a huge way.
All of us have plans and goals to achieve, don’t we? When our dream is our passion as well, we tend to go for it with added enthusiasm. This is also another reason why you should learn to love your problems. When you make solving problems as your passion, you look toward it as just another puzzle you need to solve. You can enjoy solving your problems as much as you enjoy solving crossword puzzles from the Sunday paper!
You need to realize that not having problems and being happy are different from each other. Being happy does not mean you will not have problems. Look around! You may see different people, all smiling and everything looking perfect about them. At the first sight, you may think that you are the only unlucky soul wandering the earth with a head filled with problems.
The reality is that most of us learn to be happy while facing problems. It does not mean that we forget about the problems and bury them inside so that they just remain there rotting forever. Of course not! But facing your problems with a smile tends to make you stronger. When you plant a smile on your face, answering every problem you face with a smile, you always remember that no matter what setbacks you need to overcome in your life, you are strong enough to face and overcome them. It is of course difficult to be happy when you are undergoing a major problem that might turn your life upside down. But it is always a choice. You can choose to be happy which would make it easier to solve your problems, or you can choose to be dim and dull as if you are carrying the world on your shoulder, which would make it much harder to overcome your problems.
Is there any other way to lead a happy life as same as you can by learning to love your problems? Yes, of course! Always be ready to take on your responsibilities. Accepting responsibilities is one of the key methods to overcoming your problems. Responsibilities are something that you have to make sure you fulfill which if not would turn out to be a burden on your head. It may cause restlessness and an uncomfortable feeling when skipped. It is surely not easy to make up your mind when you are being punched in the face with different problems. But it would be easier and more comforting to know that you are not alone.
Do not always extremely take things. You will automatically pressurize yourself and when you are stressed people around you will become stressed as well. Remember that your behaviors and reactions affect the surroundings as well.
So, when your surrounding becomes a stressor, they will not help you to solve your problems. Lighten up your mood and make sure you don’t take things high above your head which will only make you tensed and stressed. Enjoy the simple things around you and your problems will start to seem simple as well. This way it would be easier for you to solve them because you will begin to learn to love your problems.
Marsha Linehan who created Dialectical Behaviour Therapy states four things that can be followed as a response to a problem. You can solve the problem you are facing, you can change the perception in which you are looking at the problem, radically accept the situation you are facing or just continue to stay miserable.
Staying miserable will most definitely only increase the problem in one way or another. Based on the scope of the problem you can choose which would be the best option but when there is a problem, it means there is an imbalance in what everything should be. So it naturally becomes essential for you to solve the problems.
Clinging to the idea that we can ignore or let the problem solve by itself deteriorates when you know that you ought to be solving the problem. Most of us do try to sit out or sleep off the problem. We try to take it on to something by dissipating our anger, increasing our vocals, and even breaking a thing or two. But eventually, we must come to realize the reality that we need to face the situation and solve the problem.
