Heart Melting Story About Two Lovely Brothers

According to the NINDS (National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke), Lucas was born with lissencephaly, which means he lacks the usual folds and creases in the cerebral cortex.

According to The Cortical Foundation, it affects one in every 85,470 births and can result in seizures, difficulties swallowing, and other major health issues, as well as a shorter life expectancy.

Mrs. Aldrich told Today.com that she had a normal pregnancy but that when Lucas was three months old, he began to weep for hours on end. An MRI was performed on him, and the condition was discovered.

‘He can’t walk or talk, but he’s the happiest little man you’ll ever meet, and he just enjoys being in the company of people,’ she said.

Lucas House, a non-profit organization, founded by the family, assists parents of special-needs children and offers the youngsters pet therapy, music therapy, and arts and crafts.

How Did They Get The Idea About The Triathlon?

The family enjoys being active and providing Lucas with the best life experiences possible, such as skiing, plane excursions, and trips to Disney World. They recently learned about a YMCA Kids Club Program, as well as a children’s triathlon.

Noah stated that he wished to participate.

‘He told their mother, ‘Mom, I want to do this with my brother,” Alissa recalled. ‘That’s where the concept came from, and I believe we started training the next day.’

How Did They Participate In The Triathlon?

They trained for three months, running with Noah carrying Lucas in a huge stroller, swimming with Lucas in a boat pushed by Noah, and riding with Lucas in a stroller on his brother’s bike.

The triathlon consisted of a 200-meter swim, a three-mile bike ride, and a one-mile run.

Noah claimed to be scared on race day, but he put in an incredible effort and carried his brother across the finish line as fans cheered.

According to JRN, they finished the race in just over 54 minutes.

According to Noah’s parents, the two boys from Boise, Idaho, have had a great fondness since Lucas’ birth.

“It was a little nerve wracking but wonderful and thrilling at the same time,” their crying and joyful mother, Alissa Aldrich, told a local TV station. We’re very proud of ourselves. It was a fascinating experience to witness as a parent.

When Noah spoke to a local reporter after the race about his brother and best buddy, he displayed maturity and kindness far beyond his years. “Everything about him attracts me; he’s ideal.” He’s just like any other youngster out there,” said Noah.

It just goes to show that even little children as young as six and eight years old can teach us valuable lessons about how to appreciate our family and friends.
